Gorgeous Taisho Period, c.1915 bronze "usubata" flower vase used for the tea ceremony. Outstanding bronze craftsmanship with 'aka' or red bronze which was used in Japan prior to WW2. Signed on the bottom, 'Arahakasan' which was the Edo Period name for Shitenoji Temple in Osaka. Most likely belonged to the Temple. The flowing waves creates a beautiful contrasting asymmetry. Perfect condition. With paulownia wood original box. Not a replica! Ask for shipping quote. (H:27cm x W:32cm)
