Antique Japanese Ceramic Noh Figure Okina
Noble Japanese Noh theatre figure "Okina". Wonderfully sculpted from clay and fired in Kyoto with subtle glazes and beautiful colorings, c.1920. Okina is the main character in the traditional New year's noh theater play, 'Sambaso'. Holding an 'ogi' fan behind his back and a 'suzu' shinto shrine bell , his dance is a purification dance for world peace and a bountiful harvest. Ask for shipping quote. H:29cm x W:18cm
