| Very wabi sabi Taisho Period C.1920 iron tea ceremony tetsubin kettle used for making the green tea water. It is believed boiling water in these kettles confers on the participants long life. The kettle has characters in relief of a poem celebrating the mystical Horai Mountain in ancient China where the sages lived. It has the seal of Eirin, the foundry where it was made. Excellent condition, no leaks or cracks. Slight chip on the spout mouth or a firing scar, not sure which. Bronze lid with copper top. Ask for shipping quote. 26cm high ; 17cm wide. | ||
