Antique Japanese Shigaraki Tea Ceremony Mizusashi
Outstanding wood-fired ceramic earthenware tea ceremony misusashi from the famed kiln area of Shigaraki. Fired for three days in a climbing kiln, the natural glaze formations and organic colorings are simply a treasure. Textures and shape round out this piece to a masterpiece of ceramic art. C.1930. White 'choseki' long life stones which predominate in Shigaraki clays are in abundance in this piece. The bottom has firing scars but from the inside no cracks can be seen. When filled with water it did leak a bit. Ask for shipping quote. H: about: 10"; Diameter about 8".
