| Museum piece. Edo Period C.1860 'hangi' original woodblock carved into cherry wood. Was used to make advertisement flyers for 'Kanno-gan' an energy pick me up for kids made by Okayojuken Medical House in 'Omikoku Hino' which is the town of Hino in Omi, the Edo Period C.1614-1868 name for present day Shiga outside of Kyoto. Carved into the cherry wood backwards. Cherry wasused because of the hardness of the woods to enable many printings beforethe characterswere worn down. Excellent condition. Length: 33"x W:13".
