Japanese Okinawa Bingata Kimono Stencils, Set Of 3

Set of Three Japanese bingata kimono stencils from Okinawa. The Okinawa Islands in the south of Japan were formally a kingdom known as the Ryukyu Kingdom with their own distinct culture. The textiles display bold, vivacious designs and bright colors. They were primarily for the royalty only, until of late. The first of the set of three is of pine, flowers, grasses and streams. The second features a gorgeous mix of plum blossoms and pines while the last stencil has a flowing bouquet of maples, bamboo, chrysanthemum, grasses and stream. excellent condition. c.1950.
