| Japanese antique bronze zen sage riding a horse. Most of these scenes come from zen parables extolling the virtues of tranquility. This late 19th century bronze is a sage with a removable hat. There is a small hole where a pin could attach the sage to the horse but he sits perfectly balanced without it. Very elegant. c.1890. (11" x 9" x 5") (28cm x 23cm x 13cm).
