A rare antique Japanese tripod green overglazed shigaraki flower vase. Shigaraki is one of the seven main kilns of ancient Japan. The clays and ceramics were prized for tea utensils, tea storage and the tea ceremony. Most storage vessels used by the Imperial court in Kyoto came from Shigaraki.
