Japanese Bronze Usubata Tea Ceremony Flower Vase c.1890

Exceptional antique Japanese bronze flower vase 'usubata' used for the tea ceremony. Heavy, thick bronze used in the late Meiji Period (1867-1912). On one side in raised relief is a dragon flowing amongst the clouds. The other side has a defiant tiger surrounded in mountains. Both images define a protective, impenatrable aura. Absolutely stunning bronze cratsmanship. c.1890. (diameter 12" x height 10½") (30cm x 27cm). EMS Shipping/Insurance to USA or Western Europe $100.
