Signed Meiji Period Shigtaraki Ceramic Vase (1875)
Dripping with mingei patina and rich overglazes, this is an 1875 antique Japanese example of Shigaraki ceramic mastery. Shigaraki was one of the great kilns of feudal Japan and produced heavy clays with thick overglazes producing rich textures. Signed on the bottom 'Takami in Kinotoi' which is a period in the chinese calendar that equates to Meiji 8 or 1875. (8" x 7½") (20cm x 19cm). EMS Shipping/Insurance to USA or Western Europe $90.
