| This particular weave is the first of its kind Kodo Arts has seen in 25 years of collecting. Worth a close look. Strips of bamboo are wound around the base held in place by underlying graduated descending vertical strips of rattan creating a most remarkable effect. Even more astonishing is that every horizontal bamboo strip has had both outer edges blanched lighter to give depth and texture. The handle is wrapped bamboo. c.1900. (7½" x 17½") (19cm x 45cm).
