Framed Embroidered Pillow End with Phoenix Family

Framed Embroidered Pillow End with Phoenix Family (Mother and Father and Six Children), framed in exotic Korean paulownia wood. The phoenix family represents a happy family with devoted parents and good children, the bamboo is a symbol of prosperity, the plum blossoms are a symbol of courage, the peonies symbolize prosperity, the two bullocho on the lower left are a mythical longevity plant, the triangle at the bottom is a stylized mountain which is a symbol of long life, and the circles in the lower corners represent the sea, another longevity symbol. Korean embroidery is famed for its three-dimensionality. The deep frame gives further three-dimensionality to this beautiful and fine work of Korean embroidery. Frame: 8.75 x 8.75 inches, 22 x 22 cm; Pillow End: 4.5 x 4.5 inches, 11.5 x 11.5 cm.
