Rare Painted Ceramic Vase by the famous Korean Monk from Jeju Island, Ko Chang Nyul aka Jung Kwang Sunim (1935-2002). His ceramic work is much-sought after, and there are far fewer examples of his ceramics than there are of his paintings. A google search of Jung Kwang Mad Monk will reveal the fascinating life of this character, and you'll find a movie about him, and recent retrospective exhibitions, and the book 'The Mad Monk', and more. He and his work have been featured on CNN, PBS, NHK, and other major broadcasters. He was a famous monk, artist, poet, and actor. His unique works of art are instantly recognizable by their zen approach to form and color. 12 inches (30.5 cm) high, 22 inches (56 cm) circumference.
