Japanese Cloisonne Vase w/ Hoho Birds

This exciting Japanese cloisonne vase is done in the style of “The” cloisonne master, Namikawa Yasuyuki. The background is a wonderful blend of gold and rust colored enamel with 3 colorful Hoho birds amongst stylized flower blossoms. The wirework is done mostly in gold colored wire with a spot of silver here and there. Nice offsetting grey and black borders surround the top and lower portions. The vase is in original mint condition with a only a light smattering of firing pits and one thin area beneath the top mount that did not fill completely during the firing process. Bronze mounts with enamel throat. 6 1/8 in. tall. Unsigned. c. 1890. No Restoration.
