| This is a beautiful early Los Castillo pin or brooch, bearing the old linear mark that indicates it was made around 1942 - 1948. It is a solid, substantial piece, measuring 2 1/2 by 2 inches. The design, an elegant, abstracted vegetal form, strongly suggests the influence of Margot, who was designing for Los Castillo at this time. It is marked Los Castollo, Taxco, Sterling, Made in Mexico and 595, indicating the design number. The closure is smooth and fastens securely.
