| This is a beautiful necklace by Margot de Taxco in one of her earliest and most desired designs. It dates from the late 1940s, probably very soon after she established her own Taller after leaving Los Castillo. It features thirteen linked segments, each measuring 5/8 inches by 1 1/8 inches. It has a total wearable length of 14 1/2 inches - best for a more slender neck. It is in beautiful condition, with minimal surface scratches and a lovely patina. It is marked Margot de Taxco, Sterling, Made in Mexico, 5270 (design number), and the Eagle 1 mark, which was used on only a rare number of Margot's earliest silver pieces.
