| These figurines were called Marchen ponies - fairy ponies by artist Luise Terletzki-Scherf 1902 - 1966. She began at Nymphenburg in the 1920's, was a student of Wackerle's and her work is still in demand. I would date this charming fantasy creature to the 1950's. Height is 6", length of plinth is 3.5", 5" overall. Condition is impeccable. Signed on the base with the Royal Nymphenburh shield in green, a blindstamp of the same shield, the design number 989 and the number 17, perhaps a decorator's mark. A wonderful and unusual piece. | ||
