This is the best sample of the Early works by the famous artist Wang Qi in the Republic period, he was the coordinator of "Zhu Shan Ba You". The painting on one side depicts the practice of the Taoist making pills of immortality, a white crane (the company of immortals in Chinese mythology) is landing; another side is a poem about the spirit of Taoism with the mark of “Tao Tao Zhai”; the base also has a mark of “Tao Tao Zhai” that was the name of Wang Qi's studio. Date from the early 20th Century (Republic period). 6 ½'' high and 5 3/5'' diameter. Condition is almost perfect with some wear of the gild at rim, no hairlines, no cracks and no restorations.
