| Hey, baby-boomers, remember as a child sitting in your grandma’s kitchen waiting for a piece of cinnamon toast? Well here’s the toaster she likely used--a sleek chrome-plated Toastmaster with Bakelite trim having a distinctive Art Deco look! The very first Toastmaster for home use was a single-slice model introduced in the early 1940s, and they continued to make single-slice models for the next twenty-five years, "tinkering" with design along the way, but retaining the same distinctive Toastmaster look. This model appears to be one of the earlier models, and our best estimate is that it is circa mid-1940s (based upon the patents-pending numbers embossed on the exterior bottom crumb tray). It appears to be in good overall physical condition, but does show very slight wear associated with use from its "younger" days. The original cloth-covered power cord, however, has been replaced (and the shock insulator at end of the plug is missing). This toaster measures 10 3/4"L (handle-to-handle) X 4 1/2"W X 7 1/4"H; the vinyl electrical cord (including end-plug) is 13"L. Estimated shipping weight is 8 lbs.
