Extremely rare and wonderful necklace by Bent Knudsen of Denmark, circa 1950s. The heavy sterling silver necklace features triangular shaped discs which move freely, allowing the necklace to perfectly follow the contours of the neck. In my many years of dealing in Scandinavian jewelry, I have never seen this piece from the highly sought after Bent Knudsen. Stamped "Bent K, 47, Denmark, Sterling." Dimensions of the necklace are: 14.5" inches long and 5/8" inches wide. The necklace weighs a heavy 90.5 grams. Bent Knudsen (1924-1997) trained at Carl Cohr i Fredericia and then worked for the Hans Hansen Smithy until 1956 when he started his own workshop with his wife Anni (1927-). Their creations, always marked Bent K, and clearly inspired by Bent's time at Hans Hansen, exhibited the understated, clear and simple lines that are the hallmark of Danish Modern. Excellent vintage condition. |
