Italian born Michele Burato began his career as a glass historian, and began experimenting with fusing glass in 1990. By 1998, he had his first exhibition in Venice. Burato incorporates the traditional Venetian techniques of murrine and mosaic, for entirely unconventional results. He is known worldwide for his bold and original color combinations in painterly patterns.
This dramatic example of Burato's work stands almost 14" tall. It contains an exciting blend of blue, red, orange, yellow, white and purples. The piece is fully signed on the base and dated 1999.
