We are proud to offer this superb bowl by contemporary Australian glass artist Giles Bettison. The piece features complex earthtoned murrines in a grid-like pattern. The bowl measures 10.75" in diameter and stands 2" tall. It is in excellent condition and signed and dated on the base (illegible).
Born in South Australia, Giles Bettison is a graduate of the Canberra School of Art program. He has studied at Pilchuck and Corning and completed a residency at Bullseye Glass in 1998. His work is exhibited regularly in Australia, the U.S and Switzerland. Bettison’s beautiful surfaces are a result of a unique approach to the traditional Venetian method of murrine glass. "Celebrated for his re-invention of the classical Venetian murrine methods in the service of a uniquely Australian sensibility, Giles Bettison is breaking new ground in form, color and working method with the introduction of his Grid series.
