Rare Venini opalino "waisted" vase that was first displayed in the 1952 Biennale. In a deep midnight blue cased over a lighter interior. The vase is monumental in size, towering to almost 20" tall. It has an elegant, almost female form with a narrow "waist" and bulbous bottom section. The vase is pictured in the "Venini: Catalogue Raisonne" book on p. 104, and then again in the catalogue pages on p. 276 (item 3655, catalogo blu).
