Magnificent large vase by A.VE.M, circa 1950s. Attributed to Dino Martens, who worked briefly for A.VE.M. during this period, and who was known for these oversized, colorful "pinwheel" murrines.
My photos do not come close to doing justice to this spectacular piece, which features splotches of gold aventurine over opaque white glass, again cased inside a layer of clear. The numerous large pinwheels, which themselves measures approximately 3" in diameter, vary in color from dramatic red to soft pastels.
The vase stands about 9" tall, but feels much larger because it is a full 26" in circumference around the bulbous mid-section. In excellent, original condition. The rough pontil mark has some scarring from the manufacturing process. Additional photos of this vase are available upon request. Domestic US shipping, handling, and insurance for this item will be $50. For more fine vintage Murano glass, please visit our website PlanetGlass.net.
