Desirable and innovative design by Ercole Barovier for Barovier e Toso, circa 1950s. This complex technique, called 'Graffito Lattimo e Avventurina' features clear glass with purple and gold spirals, which are "scratched" to allow the formation of a large air bubble inside each pocket of decoration.
The vase has a four lobbed, slightly folded form, each containing two rows of these controlled air bubbles. The neck is circled by a decorative band. Unsigned. Well documented in the literature, including the book by Marina Barovier "The Art of the Barovier" on p. 202. The vase stands over 11.5" tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. Domestic US shipping, handling, and insurance for this item will be $25.
