Interesting large vase designed by Luciano Gaspari 'sassi' vase for Salviati, circa 1962. In clear glass encircled with thick bands of black, blues and smoke. The vase is signed on the base "Salviati designer L. Gaspari."
A photo of a similar example is shown on page. 121 of Marc Heiremans' book "20th Century Murano Glass." He writes: "The 'sassi,' or 'stones' series was designed by Luciano Gaspari in 1962, and presented... at the XXXI Biennial of Venice." The vase is in excellent condition. It is extremely large and heavy, standing 10.5" tall and measuring approx. 16" in circumference. Domestic US shipping, handling, and insurance for this item will be $35.
