A rare bottle by seminal designer Gio Ponti for Venini, circa 1950. The bottle is "incalmo," meaning that the translucent deep green top half was fused while hot onto the opaque red bottom section. The stopper is red and clear. The bottle measures 13.5" tall with the stopper in place. In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other marks. Bears a correct three line Venini acid stamp on the edge of the polished rim. These bottles are well documented in the Venini literature as being one of the few designs that architect Gio Ponti did for Venini. |
