An extremely fine example of a Newcastle Light Baluster (NLB) wine glass. The round funnel bowl is beautifully engraved with a wide border of scrolls and foliage. The stem has an angular shoulder knop above a knop containing multiple tears. At the lower part of the stem is a basal knop above a conical foot with a rough, snapped pontil. The glass is 7 1/8" tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 5/8" and a foot diameter of 3 1/16". Excellent color, striations, and tooling marks, with no condition issues at all. |
