Charming Folk Art Pastel Portrait of a Puppy, c 1870

A wonderful pastel painting of a puppy, done in a folky style in shades of brown, tan, black and white. The frame and backboard appear to be original. Sight size is 14" by 10 1/2"; framed size is 16 1/2" by 12 3/8". Except for a minor scuff in the background, the condition is superb.
