This is a beautiful handpainted plate from the Rococo Revival period, probably made at the Coalport factory. It features two sprigs of yellow flowers in the center, identified, as "Creeping Moneywort", in red script on the reverse. The finely molded border, edged in gilding, has groups of flowers and fruits. The diameter of the plate is 8 5/8". The condition of this specimen is as exquisite as the subject matter, being in pristine shape, with no chips, cracks, restoration, or even a speck of gilding loss. A lovely piece for a collection or as an eye-catching display. |
