This is an extremely nicely executed fraktur type American folk art watercolor on paper of a multi-colored bird among flowers and leaves. Colors are vibrant, and there are no tears. There is, however, some surface wear and creasing to the paper, which is not at all unusual in these type works. There is also a stain which is strongly exaggerated in the photos, but is relatively unobtrusive when seen in person. The overall visual impression and impact is excellent.
Sight size is 9 1/4 inches by 7 1/4 inches, and the framed size is 11 3/4 inches by 9 3/4 inches. The frame is new (and, unfortunately, partly cropped in the photo below), and this wonderful painting would be substantially enhanced with a period gold frame.
