Beautiful Japanese Marquetry inlaid Table, lots of Marquetry designs are displayed in this three(3) functional table, all in one(1) table, becomes to a Book Stand, a Chess table and a Sewing or Work Table, 33 1/2" high, 13" deep, 35 1/2" wide when it is open, 17 1/2" wide when two(2) leaves are closed on both side, with inlaid bracket support in the back and front on both side. This multiple purpose table comes in two(2) part, with separate stand with curved black lacquered legs connected to the rectangle shape stretcher on the bottom to strengthen the legs. There are two(2) small drawers above one(1) long drawer next to the small door inlaid with Persimmon wood Cherry tree, and mounted with white metal. Inside the door, there are small drawers. There is a pull out board in the bottom of the top piece, also inlaid with geometric design of Marquetry work with different kind of wood and shows various colors of the wood and shapes, and back side also inlaid with floral branches, very different design than other side. This pull out board goes into the long horizontal opening in the back and become book stand. If no need for the book stand, then push the board into the long horizontal opening in front side, then become hidden under the top piece. The pull out board in front become extra table top when more space is needed for sewing or other type of work. This table is a multiple purpose table, plus a very beautiful piece of furniture in any room setting. There are some warping on the table top, some wear and tear on wood surface.

Pair Japanese carved Wood Shrine Guardian Lions, 19th century, 10 1/2" high, 6" wide, 11" deep, wonderfully bleached and weathered being outside. This Guardian also called Protector, or Shishi Dog, one mouth open and another mouth closed, always as a pair, placed on the top of the door hinges or under the eave in front of the Shrine doors to protect and stand Guard outside before entering the Shrine. The details of the carving is bold but very detailed, like fat feet and tummy, fierce eyes, and face expressions are very humorous and cute. The condition is good, one side of ear belongs to the one mouth open is somewhat bruised and missing a little, and shows the cracks on the both Guardian Dogs.

Japanese Keyaki wood two(2) section Tansu, Meiji period, 47 1/2" high, 48" wide, 17 1/2" deep, beautiful Keyaki wood grains in the front section and Cedar wood side and inside the drawers. There is a secret area on the lower right side, two(2) small drawers are inside the highly decorated with Iron hinged blind door. All the Lock plates are done by black iron with Brass Turtle and Black Iron Eagle, include heavy iron handles and low relief black iron design of Bonsai Pine Tree top just above the handle. There are some wear and tear on wood and metal area.

Japanese Keyaki wood Tansu, two(2) sections, Meiji period, with Brass Turtle and Iron Eagle lock back plates with heavy black iron handles, 46" high, 48" wide, 17 1/2" deep, include secret drawers inside the blind door which is highly decorated with black iron hinges and lock plate in the lower right side, next to the deep longer drawer decorated with Brass Turtle and Iron Eagle lock plates in the center and heavy black iron handles on both sides. Two(2) graduated size long drawers in the top section. Front of the Tansu is highly decorative grains of Keyaki wood, and the side secondary wood is Cedar wood, with black lacquered on the Cedar wood frame. All the lock plates are decorated with Brass Turtle and iron Eagles inside the Brass Frame. There are some wear and tear on wood and small pieces of Brass hardware is broken off-see pictures.

Japanese Wood Marquetry inlaid Hanging Cabinet with blind doors and one(1) shelf inside, the doors swing out to open, early Meiji period, later part of 1800's, 24 3/4" high, 22 1/2", 6" deep. This Marquetry cabinet can be hang on the wall or stand on the hard surface like table top. All the wood Marquetry inlaid works are on the front part of the doors and top area, representing typical Japanese Artistic Symbols on the Hardwood Cedar and other mixed wood, and Brass key hole is not complete. It shows beautiful wood old Patina with age, one(1) vertical wood piece on the side panel is missing for long period of time, and one(1) hole in the back was mended with newer piece of wood some time ago.

Japanese large Cedar Wood square Hibachi with original Copper Lining, 7" high-outside and 5 1/2" inside, 17 1/2" square-outside and 16 1/2" square top rim, 11 1/2" square inside copper lining, with cut out handle on both side, original blue cotton fabric on the bottom. The beautiful bold looking grain of Cedar wood is noticeable and all original condition, no major damage except old copper lining is somewhat stained.

Japanese dark Kiri wood Merchant's Chest with display shelves and drawers, Meiji period, late 1800's, 19" high, 20" wide, 7" deep, two(2) shelves above three(3) small drawers, and above two(2) larger drawers, all the drawers have brass round knob. The grains are beautiful and very decorative cut out design of pine tree and other Japanese design on the both side. The back side is enclosed with small lattice wooden grills which is very decorative, and wooden lattice work is in good condition, maybe one time someone pasted rice paper on the back side but now is all open. This merchant display chest is in good condition, no restoration or damage.
