Japanese Lacquer Trunk with Maki lacquer low relief decoration, with large Lotus flowers on five(5) side(top, front, back and both side) continued design of large Lotus flowers, and stamped brocade Bronze finish Strapping, 14 1/2" high, 24 1/2" wide, 17 1/2" deep, include inner black lacquer tray fitted over the top rim. The top cover is separate piece, not hinged, and fit on the top rim of main trunk. The large Lotus Flowers in the water design is spread out on all five(5) side, bottom is finished with black lacquer only. The straps are overlapping onto the bottom, and one side of bronze finish fitting was missed before and replaced with oval shape piece long time ago, and the other side is complete with original pieces. Each corner of joint is split and small size of lacquer losses on the various areas, no major lacquer losses on top of large Lotus flowers. This Maki lacquer trunk has a beautiful old patina.

Japanese Ivory and Mother of Pearl inlaid of ladies in tea ceremony in high relief on black lacquered panel set in deep frame inlaid with silver, made late 1800's, Meiji period, 26" high, 16 1/4" wide, 3/4" depth. The details of the carved and embossed silk dress is extremely fine, and the lady's faces are pretty and really well carved design, used all different natural materials and natural colors bordered with silver inlaid decoration. There are some loses of small pieces of black lacquer, the size of 1/8" to 1/2" and the surface is dull and scratched over the years in some areas, this is as found condition.

Pair Japanese Lacquer Tables or Stands, gold lacquer decoration of large Peony flowers and scrolling vines on black lacquer background, 3 1/4" high, 8 1/2" wide-widest point on top, 4" deep-deepest point, table top fit into the base. There are some lacquer losses on the corners the size of 1/4" x 1/8" wide and others are smaller in size.

Set of Eight(8) Japanese Maki Lacquered on Wood Bowls and covers, each measures 3 1/4" high with cover on, 4 1/2" diameter-rim for bowl. The design of fern and other wild flowering plants behind the rock in two(2) different gold colors of lacquer on top of the dark chocolate brown color, not really black but dark coffee color of lacquer in the background. With beautiful and fine details of design of wild outdoor plants in gold maki lacquer, on top of the cover and continue on to the outer part of the bowl on one side. Under the cover is lighter brown color, with two(2) gold lacquer decorated butterflies flying under the cover. There are few lacquer loses on the outer bottom rim about 1/16" x 3/8" wide, another one is on the top rim about 1/16" wide.
