Pair Japanese carved solid Wood Shrine Guardian Lions, 10 1/2" high, 6" wide, 11" deep each, wonderfully aged, bleached and weathered being outside above Shrine or Temple heavy door frames. These Guardians also called Protector, or Shishi Dog, one mouth open and another mouth closed, always as a pair, placed on the top of the door hinges or under the eave in front of the Shrine doors to protect and stand Guard outside before entering the Shrine. The details of the carving is bold, humorous and very detailed, like fat feet and tummy, fierce eyes, and face expressions are very humorous and cute. The condition is good, one side of ear belongs to the one mouth open Shishi is somewhat bruised and missing a little piece of wood, and shows the age and weathered cracks on the both Guardian Dogs.

Meiji period 1890's, 9 3/4" high, 3 1/4" diameter-top rim, 3 7/8" diameter-bottom rim, The story is telling beautiful landscape surroundings, ladies in silk brocade Kimono and children are outing in the beautiful garden scenery wearing most beautiful silk Kimonos with finely detailed pattern of silk brocade highlighted in low relief brilliant gold design, most of the gold decorations are done with one(1) hair brush in perfect brush strokes, scenery is circling around the entire vases inside four(4) or five(5) floral and geometric pattern of narrow bands, also painted with very tiny small exact pattern of brush strokes in brilliant gold. Most of the decorations are so tiny smaller than hair line, camera can't captured the very detailed fine designs. Each vase depicting different stories but continues one vase to another vase, ladies and kids are outing, playing games or talking each other in the most beautiful Japanese garden scenery and lake under the red Maple trees, and tiny geese are flying far above, and ladies are carrying paper and bamboo Umbrellas. The condition is near perfect, some flat gold band designs are worn on the bottom from the handling by hands, not noticeable unless you put vases upside down.

Japanese Totai Cloisonne Vase, enamel with silver wire work on Earthenware, signed in red "Kinkosan" under the high foot base, Ca. late 1800's, late Meiji period, 12" high, 4 3/4" wide-maximum width. The main body has colorful floral design enamel work divided by silver wire inside two(2) cartouches on each side on powder blue background, and more individual enamel floral design on the green Turquoise color background outside the cartouches. Around the neck and bottom part is black enamel work with more floral and other precious symbols decorated. There is a crack circled around bottom waist area and shows a little loss of enamel and touched up with paint. Very tiny some red enamel pieces are missing or loss of enamel on the neck lower part.

Japanese Cast Iron Tetsubin, tall Tea Cattle, Tea Pot, Before 1900, early Meiji period, 10 1/2" high include handle, 6 1/2" wide include spout, early cylinder shape, pine cone knob, iron handle has raised design, and some low relief design on the side all around but hard to distinguish. This tea kettle is as is condition, spout was repaired sometime ago and hole on the bottom size of 1/2" x 1 1/4" long, some broken pieces are saved in the plastic bag inside the pot but need some restoration work.

Japanese mixed wood heavy weight Cyprus, Cedar and Pine wood two(2) section Tansu, chest on chest, Ca. Meiji period, 19th C., 42" high, 34" wide, 17" deep, with original reddish brown finish with heavy black iron round back plates and handles. Upper section with two(2) long graduated size drawers above one(1) long and one(1) short graduated size drawers next to two(2) small drawers on the right side bottom. There are two(2) cracks on the lower section, one on the lower left short drawer in front and another cracker is on the second drawer from the bottom on the right side, cracks are about 4" to 6" long. Some Kanji writing on the bottom of the both pieces, and some splits in the back from age and dryness over the years. The condition is heavy original, as is condition.
