Japanese Cyprus and Pine wood two(2) section Tansu, Meiji period, 42" high(21" high for upper section), 34" wide, 17" deep, with heavy black iron round back plates and pulls, warm reddish original finish, two(2) graduated size long drawers in upper section, one(1) long and one(1) shorter drawers beside two(2) small drawers on the right bottom in lower section. Two(2) handles each on the side for carrying and lock together. There are cracks about 4" - 6" long each on the front part of drawer in lower section next to black iron hardware pulls, wooden front section of the drawer is thicker wood. Lots of Kanji writing is on the bottom section of the Tansu.

Japanese Kiri wood two(2) section Tansu(chest), 42" high(20" high for upper piece), 34" wide, 17" deep, with upper section has two(2) graduated long drawers, and above one(1) long drawer above one(1) short drawer next to two(2) small drawers on the right bottom. The heavy black iron handles and carved large back plate is in good condition including wrapped around the corner and side. Two(2) heavy black iron handles on the side will help to lock two(2) pieces together, so upper section don't slide and lock in place, upper handle on the side is for carrying. Secondary wood is pine or Cyprus, shows the distinctive bold grains, some holes and splits inside the drawers and back side.

Japanese Imari Porcelain octagonal shape deep bowl, 7 1/2" diameter-point to point, 4 1/4" high, beautiful shape bowl with eight(8) sides with Heron, Iris, Plum flowering Tree and other flowering design on outside, and Pomegranate with underglaze and overglaze green and red decorated half way down inside the bowl, all highlighted with gold. Underglaze blue mark on the bottom outside. Hairline runs from top rim to down about 2" long, very tight hairline and some gilding wears on the top rim.

Japanese Imari porcelain double gourd shape Vase, 12" high, 1 3/8" diameter-top rim, 7" wide-widest part, 4" diameter-bottom rim, with typical Imari colors of flying Phoenix Birds and flying Dragons in four(4)separate round circles, top area is decorated with Chrysanthemum flower shape "Mon" in two(2) round circles, surrounded with vines of floral design in underglaze blue and overglaze red, and gold highlights. Japanese wooden Money box, later part of Meiji period, late 1800's, 10" high, 10" wide, 15 1/2" deep, with black wrought iron lock compartment, round flower shape button slide from left to right but I do not have key. The top front section lift up, there are round coin slot and paper money slot on top. Japanese very intricate and fine Marquetry inlaid Chess Board Game Table/wide Sewing table, Meiji period, late 1800's to early 1900's, 33 1/2" high, 17 1/2" wide, 13" deep when two(2) leaves are closed, 35 1/2" wide when two(2) leaves are open. This table comes in two(2) parts, upper chest with small drawers and stand with wide wooden stretcher on the bottom. The stand is 22 1/2" high, 19" wide, 15" deep, inlaid on curved area. Upper chest contains four(4) drawers and two(2) small drawers inside inlaid floral design door, all inlaid with various type of wood and colors-front, both side, back and top. All the white metal hardware like pulls and hinges are embossed impressed pattern of small dots and various style of Japanese design, plus small round dark wood knobs. This table extend to a longer table to use as a sewing table, both side have two(2) supports to swing out, total four(4) pull out supports to support the leaves on both side when they open to full width. The condition is very good considering the intricate marquetry work on wooden surface, very slight warping appearing on the top, the two(2) small drawers behind the blind door can not pull out all the way, no marquetry inlaid piece of wood is missing, no restoration work on this piece, all original.

Japanese full set of bamboo pole and carved hardwood fish hearth hook, or tea pot holder over the open fire inside the house, from late 1800's to early 1900's, 66" high when used adjustable black iron chain on top(can be extend 10" to 20" more), 54" high for bamboo pole with iron pole inside to hold fish and hook, and the fish is holding heavy black iron flame shape double hook and flexible iron support chain to hold fish straight. The carved fish is dark hardwood, realistic well carved-10" long, 3" high, 2" thick with open mouth and the bottom of the fish is somewhat worn with age above the iron hook but no cracks. The bamboo pole has crack, that is natural aging after staying above open fire for many years everyday. The large round iron ring has open area with old age. This full set of Jizaikagi is complete original condition and good example of Japanese Mingei.

Japanese Elmwood/Keyaki wood Temple Study Table, 11" high, 17 1/4" wide, 11` 1/2" deep, from early Meiji period before 1900. This study table used one(1) piece of board on top and sides, and has very distinctive beautiful grains, and can be portable to take apart as smaller pieces, this makes easy to store in the small space. Cut out side panels are very decorative design, ended with wide long piece of wood on the bottom to make stable condition. The condition is good, some wood separation about 2" long on few areas on the side caused by the use of one(1) board.

Japanese red lacquer and palm leaf design brocaded silk Obi fabric folding stand, 17 1/2" high, 18" wide, 14 1/2" deep-maximum(when opened), and 24" high, 14 1/2" deep(when closed), later part of Meiji period early 1900's, brocaded silk obi material on top has no open seam, all one(1) piece of silk fabric, woven for this stand when it was made. The tip of metal caps are impressed brocaded design. There are some dull lacquer area from the usage but no damage.

Japanese Lacquer Trunk with Maki lacquer low relief decoration, with large Lotus flowers on five(5) side(top, front, back and both side) continued design of large Lotus flowers, and stamped brocade Bronze finish Strapping, 14 1/2" high, 24 1/2" wide, 17 1/2" deep, include inner black lacquer tray fitted over the top rim. The top cover is separate piece, not hinged, and fit on the top rim of main trunk. The large Lotus Flowers in the water design is spread out on all five(5) side, bottom is finished with black lacquer only. The straps are overlapping onto the bottom, and one side of bronze finish fitting was missed before and replaced with oval shape piece long time ago, and the other side is complete with original pieces. Each corner of joint is split and small size of lacquer losses on the various areas, no major lacquer losses on top of large Lotus flowers. This Maki lacquer trunk has a beautiful old patina.
