Set of Eight(8) Japanese two different shades of Gold Maki lacquered covered bowls, Ca. late Meiji early 1900, 3 1/4" high include top or cover, 4 1/2" diameter top rim. Raised low relief design of Gold Maki Lacquered Ferns and other flowering plants behind rock garden on dark chocolate color of lacquer on wood. The beautiful and detailed fine Lacquer work was done two different shades of gold in different relief design continues to the cover, bottom and side ways. Inside the bowl is very light color of cafe au lait color, different than outside dark chocolate color. Two(2) gold lacquer butterflies decorated under the cover. There are very minimal few tiny lacquer chips average size of 1/8" on the bottom and top rim, not very noticeable.

Japanese heavy wooden Trunk from the Castle, made during Meiji period(1868-1912), 19 1/2" high, 20 1/2" wide, 13 3/4" deep, with heavy black iron mounted on four(4) corners, lock plate compartment and two(2) handles which can be lift up for the carrying with two(2) wooden poles by two(2) man, one in front and other man in the back. Top lift up to open, Kanji written in red Lacquer to identify the usage of the trunk which is for Armor usage on two(2) sides. Condition is good, just showing the wear and tear but all the black iron mounted hardwares are in place.

Japanese woven Bamboo Trunk is for storing textiles, dolls and other light weight items, Ca. early 1900's, 10 3/4" high, 25" wide, 15" deep, with heavy iron mounted lock and carrying handles on both side, lined with paper inside, folding top with black metal hinge, red lacquer wooden stripes on the bottom support the chest. There are some separations between joint and lacquer loses.

Japanese black lacquer and Mother of Pearl and some ivory inlaid picture, late 1800's Meiji period, tea ceremony with ladies in high relief inlaid work on on black lacquered panel set in deep frame inlaid with silver, 26" high, 16 1/4" wide, 3/4" depth. The details of the carved and embossed silk dress is extremely fine, and the lady's faces are pretty and really well carved design, used all different natural materials and natural colors of mother of pearl, and bordered with silver inlaid frame. There are some loss of small pieces of black lacquer, the size of 1/8" to 1/2" and the surface is dull and some small scratches in some areas.

Japanese Blue & White Imari deep Serving Dish, heavy and deep for serving, 12" diameter, 2 3/4" high, with underglaze blue decoration of mountain, pine tree and Japanese style house. Wide border of flowers in blue transfer design on both inside and outside rim, underglaze transfer blue mark on the bottom. Stained old chip 1/2" wide on the foot rim, and some scratches on top of the dish.

Japanese Blue and White Transfer ware Porcelain cut corner Square deep Platter, 12" square, 1 1/2" high, pine tree, mountain and river design in the center, and tree foliage and butterflies in different shade of blue decorated on the wide border. Japanese deep 3 dimensional carved Bamboo Saki Jug or Container with one stopper, Ca. 1880- 1920, 9 1/2" high- with thinner light color of bamboo handle attached into extended to main one piece of bamboo section, 6 1/2" diameter on top with hole in the center of thinly carved flower pedal. Outside the jug has deep 3 dimensional carving of figures and temples with Pine trees and rocky mountainside in natural deep brown color with naturally aged cracks caused by dry air and old age. Two(2) handles each on the upper and lower side are for carrying and lock two(2) pieces together. There are some wear and tear but ready to use at home any time.

Japanese large Cedar Wood square Hibachi with original Copper Lining, 7" high-outside and 5 1/2" inside, 17 1/2" square-outside and 16 1/2" square top rim, 11 1/2" square inside copper lining, with cut out handle on both side, original blue cotton fabric on the bottom. The beautiful bold looking grain of Cedar wood is noticeable and all original condition, no major damage except old copper lining is somewhat stained.

Japanese Cloisonne pale lavender color vase, 8 3/8" high, 4 1/2" wide-widest part, 2 3/4" diameter-top rim, with wireless decoration of snow capped Mt. Fuji, and silver wire and enamel decoration of the Shrine on the higher ground under the Cedar trees, and fishing boats in the lake near the small island, with silver mounted top and bottom rim. There is one(1) bruise around the silver rim about 1/8" x 1/4" wide and slight lines show on the top next to silver rim.

Japanese Meiji period Cloisonne Charger with Phoenix Bird design in the center, later part of 1800's, 11 7/8" diameter, 1 1/2" high. Underneath the plate around rim area shows some loss of enamel between the silver wire and some glaze hair lines, small size about 1/2" or smaller size of enamel loses on the bottom rim. Retains old label.

Japanese Cypress and Pine wood two(2) section Tansu, Meiji period, 42" high(21" high for upper section), 34" wide, 17" deep, with heavy black iron round back plates and pulls, warm reddish original finish, two(2) graduated size long drawers in upper section, one(1) long and one(1) shorter drawers beside two(2) small drawers on the right bottom in lower section. Two(2) handles each on the side for carrying and lock together. There are cracks about 4" - 6" long each on the front part of drawer in lower section next to black iron hardware pulls. Lots of Kanji writing are on the bottom outside.
