Japanese Merchant Chest, 11" high, 8" wide, 16 1/4" deep, with three(3) deep graduated size drawers with black iron handle. Top of the chest separated at the joint from the shrinkage of the wood, dovetailed at the joint and used bamboo nails, all original hardware and finish, no major damages except wood shrinkage on the top and split about 2" long at the joint in front and side.

Japanese Kiri wood Tea Chest Tansu, made during Meiji period, late 1800's, 18 1/4" high, 23" wide, 11" deep, two(2) small drawers on top row, two(2) sliding doors next to small drawers, and one(1) long large drawer on the bottom. Shelf inside the sliding doors, and used bamboo nails with dovetailed interlocking joint and with brass hardware, no major damages except some scratches on the wood and shrinkage of the wood at the joint.

Japanese wooden Writer's Chest, with graduated size drawers inside the one(1) hinged main door, 24" high, 12" wide, 15" deep, made late Meiji or early part of 1900's, used bamboo nails. Four(4) corners and hinges are mounted with black wrought iron, two(2) rope handles on both sides at upper section is for carrying, the bottom of the chest shows the age and rough wood finish.

Japanese heavy wood Trunk from the Castle, made during Meiji period(1868-1912), 19 1/2" high, 20 1/2" wide, 13 3/4" deep, with heavy black iron mounted on four(4) corners, lock plate compartment and two(2) handles which can be lift up for the carrying with two(2) wooden poles by two(2) man, one in front and other man in the back. Top lift up to open, Kanji written in red Lacquer to identify the usage of the trunk which is for Armor usage on two(2) sides. Condition is good, just showing the wear and tear but all the black iron mounted hardware is in place.

Japanese woven Bamboo Trunk is for storing textiles, dolls and other light weight items, 10 3/4" high, 25" wide, 15" deep, early part of 1900's, with heavy black iron mounted lock and carrying handles on both side, lined with paper inside, folding top with black metal hinge, red lacquer wooden stripes on the bottom support the chest. There are some separations between joint and lacquer loses.

Japanese Calligrapher or Writer's Wooden Box, 9 1/2"high, 8 1/2" deep, 13" wide, early Meiji period, 1870's, with heavy black iron mounted hinges, lock and pulls, and two(2) graduated size drawers and lift the top to open for the space to keep the writing or drawing implement. All with original finish and hardware, including original bamboo nails, one(1) black iron hinge is rusted.
