Pair Chinese blue and white Canton porcelain Tea Canisters, circa before 1830 and 13 3/4" high-with carved rosewood tops, 12 1/2" high-without tops, 7 1/4" wide square with unglazed flat bottom. This pair of Canton Tea Canisters are very heavy weight with typical Canton decorations of a man on the bridge, sampans in the lake, pavilions with pine and willow trees and two(2) men walking up the hill to the Temple, all the decorations are done in underglaze blue. Two(2) carved rosewood tops(at least 40 years old) came with this pair Canton Canister set. There are few very shallow glaze chips on the corners, about the size of 3/4" to 1/4" wide, and frits on the top rims, very minimum, both rings like bell.

Chinese Export Rosewood Butler's Desk made for the English Market, circa 1850's, 46" high, 50" wide, 23" deep, very large and heavy Rosewood, entire desk is made out of Rosewood include back and inside the drawers with beautiful and distinctive Chinese Rosewood grains, include some dots and round circles in the wood. Side panels are one(1) single board of rosewood used for each side, backside is divided three(3) separate vertical frames, pegged into the main piece, all the work was done by hand, shows irregular surface cut marks. All the dovetails inside the drawers are very wide dovetail compare to English style, wheels on the bracket feet. Front of the graduated size drawers and both side panels are inlaid with the black Olive Wood lines enclosed the hidden Brass handles. Front part of the Desk top is connected with Brass hardware, operate by the round small brass buttons inside front of the desk top to be able to open and close or pull out and close. Inside the desk, there are three(3) larger drawers on the bottom, two(2) smaller size of drawers are located in each side of the four(4) pigeon holes, one(1) center closed door compartment, all the front of the drawers are inlaid with thin line of Satinwood and Olive Wood, with the hand carved Rosewood round knobs. The condition is good, some wear and tear, no major damages.

French Provincial dark oak cupboard, 18th century Louise XV period, 74" high, 55" wide, 20" deep-bottom cupboard, 12 1/2" deep-display rack area, with hand carved deep relief design. Hand carved huge Sunflower with sprigs of leaves on the top front, flowers in the vase in the center of two(2) blind doors between hand chased two(2) decorative large brass key holes and back lock plates(old original key is included) continue on to the top side. All the door hinges are old original brass, heavy Oak shelf inside the carved wood panel doors. All the back boards are original primitive solid wood panels. Wooden pegs are used between the joints, there are some old iron metal nails are visible on top board. This French Country dark Oak cupboard is beautiful and good small size. Pair beautiful rare findings of Korean Scholar Chests "Mungap" with Burl wood inlaid doors and drawers and white Brass "Baektong" lock plates and square handles, 18" high, 32" wide, 13 3/4" deep, three(3) burl wood front drawers above the four(4) removable burl wood frameed panel doors supported by small feet, continue to vertical frame, wrapped with the white brass around the corners, and top shows the dovetail method. All the panel doors are removable through the one door-second from the right-slide and pull through and pushed to the left side one by one to close all four(4) doors, no one can open the doors unless know how to open the whole chest. Only one(1) door-second from right- has the key hole which can be open. The way to open the key hole-only one- is to push the white brass round center of the flower to upward, but none of others open except one(1) door-second from right. Inside the four(4) panel doors, there are four(4) small drawers under the top with small white brass tear drop shape handles. It is very important to lock the documents and papers, plus all the valuable utensils for scholar. The condition is very good, shows the normal age wears, none of the white brass hardwear is missing. This was owned by one of the collectors in DC area for long time.

Pair Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Flask or Moon shape vases, 10 1/4" high, 7 1/4" wide-widest part, 2 1/2" wide on the base, 2 1/8" diameter-top rim, early 1800's, pair extremely finely decorated overglaze Dragons with highlighted in gold between white flowers and feathers on the Turquoise color background inside large roundels on both side surrounded with Famille Rose color of floral and vines in the slightly raised pink background. Top and bottom section of the vases are decorated overglaze vines and floral design on yellow background, and two(2) stylized reclining Lizards handles on both side of shoulders. Reclining Lizards have a lot of open spaces between vase and detailed body of Lizards. Two(2) very shallow piece off from the bottom about 1/4" wide, small shallow chip off from Lizard's elbow about 3/8" wide which shows white color in the photograph, all original condition, no restoration or modification.

French Dore Bronze(Ormolu) mounted Mahogany large desk, 29" high, 34" wide, 22" deep, with Brilliant Ormolu frame wrapped around the top and same Ormolu carved decoration continues on the four(4) sides. This desk can be used as Partner's desk in the middle of the room but drawers are only in front side. All the lock plates and keyholes are carved raised relief Ormolu Lion's face with original Ormolu decorated key included, and all the lock mechanism work properly. Drawers are dovetailed joint with Oak lining, supported by the round tapered legs terminated with bronze shoes, completely wrapped around the feet with bronze shoes. The brown leather top is original, tightly glued together, and some wear and tear on the top with old separation across the top caused by the shrinkage of the wooden top under the leather, some small pieces of ormolu ribbons are on lock plates are missing.

Korean dark brown Lacquer inlaid with Shark's skin, Shell, Tortoishell and brass wire inlaid Phoenix and Dragon design Low Table, 13 1/2" high, 38 1/2" x 27" wide. Top of the table is inlaid design of Four(4) claw Dragon and Phoenix chasing flaming Pearl, most of Dragon is inlaid with Shark"s Skin with twisted wire and Dragon's eyes are inlaid with Mother of Pearl. Shark's skin inlaid design of money purse and antiquities on the shaped apron in various colors. There are some Chinese Characters inlaid with Tortoise Shell on the corners of four(4) aprons, and continue down to four(4) gracefully curved short legs. Very tight crack on wood -see photos- can be repaired or leave it alone. Some areas used gold powder in lacquer finish. Please request for more photographs. There are very minimum separation between top and side apron in couple corners.

Beautiful Japanese Marquetry inlaid Table, mid 1800's, many different decoration of Marquetry designs are displayed in this three(3) functional table, all in one(1) table, becomes to a Book Stand, a Chess table and a Sewing or Work Table, 33 1/2" high, 13" deep, 35 1/2" wide when it is open, 17 1/2" wide when two(2) leaves are closed on both side, with inlaid bracket support leaves in the back and front on both side. This multiple purpose table comes in two(2) part, with separate stand with curved black lacquered legs connected to the rectangle shape stretcher on the bottom to strengthen the legs. There are two(2) small drawers above one(1) long drawer next to the small door inlaid with Persimmon wood Cherry tree, and mounted with stamped white metal. Inside the door, there are small drawers. There is a pull out board in the bottom of the top piece in front, also inlaid with geometric design of Marquetry work with different kind of wood and shows various colors of the wood and shapes, and back side also inlaid with floral branches, very different design than other side. This pull out board goes into the long horizontal opening in the back and become book stand. If no need for the book stand, then push the board into the long horizontal opening in front side, then become hidden under the top piece. The pull out board in front become extra table top when more space is needed for sewing or other type of work. This table is a multiple purpose table, plus a very beautiful piece of Marquetry furniture in any room setting. There are slight warping on the table top, some wear and tear on wood surface, no missing inlaid piece of woods.

Pair Japanese carved solid Wood Shrine Guardian Lions, 10 1/2" high, 6" wide, 11" deep, wonderfully aged, bleached and weathered being outside above Shrine or Temple heavy door frames. These Guardians also called Protector, or Shishi Dog, one mouth open and another mouth closed, always as a pair, placed on the top of the door hinges or under the eave in front of the Shrine doors to protect and stand Guard outside before entering the Shrine. The details of the carving is bold but very detailed, like fat feet and tummy, fierce eyes, and face expressions are very humorous and cute. The condition is good, one side of ear belongs to the one mouth open is somewhat bruised and missing a little piece of wood, and shows the age and weathered cracks on the both Guardian Dogs.

Chinese large carved Rock Crystal figure of Guan Yin, 9 1/2" high, 3 1/2" wide-widest part, 2 1/4" deep-maximum measurement, carved out of one(1) large solid natural Rock Crystal. The carving of the expression of the face and other detail of position of the hand and holding object are very polished and finely done. There are some grains showing deep inside the rock and some rough and dark natural area is on the backside of Guan Yin's head. The condition is very good except two(2) tiny frits under the tips of the skirt, it is not visible through the naked eyes but felt by finger tips. There are no open hair lines or any restoration was done on this figure.

Japanese Keyaki wood Tansu, two(2) sections, Meiji period late 1800's, with Brass Turtle and Iron Eagle lock back plates and heavy black iron handles, 46" high, 48" wide, 17 1/2" deep, include secret drawers inside the heavily decorated black iron blind door in the lower right side, next to the deep longer drawer decorated with Brass Turtle and Iron Eagle lock plates in the center and heavy black iron handles on both sides. Two(2) graduated size long drawers in the top section. Front of the Tansu is highly decorative grains of Keyaki wood, and the side secondary wood is Cedar wood, with black lacquered on the Cedar wood frame. All the lock plates are decorated with Brass Turtle and iron Eagles inside the Brass Frame. There are some wear on wood and small pieces of Brass beaks are broken off-see pictures.

Brass Turtle will move up and down to hide the key holes and change his positions. The condition is good, shows some wears on wood, and little bits of brass beaks of Eagles are broken off.

Very large size of Japanese Arita Porcelain trumpet shape Vase or Urn with pie crust rim, made during later part of 1800's Meiji period in Arita area, 36" high, 12" diameter -top rim, 15" wide-widest measurement, horse man and another man playing musical instrument while they are traveling together in one side with iron red enamel. Beautiful colorful Peacock design between two(2) large panels of the horse and a man playing musical instrument. Around the bottom area, high relief large Peony flowers decorated, all the designs of entire vase was done by overglaze enamel, resting on the raised high rim. If you see some lines in the picture, that is the part of the designs, there are no damages or restorations.

Japanese Lacquer Trunk with Maki lacquer low relief decoration of large Lotus flowers on five(5) side(top, front, back and both side), and stamped brocade Bronze finish Strapping, 14 1/2" high, 24 1/2" wide, 17 1/2" deep, include inner black lacquer tray fitted over the top rim inside. The top cover is separate piece, not hinged, fit on the top rim of the main trunk. The large Lotus Flowers in the water design is spread out on all five(5) sides, bottom is finished with black lacquer. The straps are overlapping onto the bottom, and one side of bronze finish fitting was missed before and replaced with oval shape piece long time ago, the other side is complete with original pieces. Each corner of joint is split and small size of lacquer losses on the various areas, no major lacquer losses. This Maki lacquer trunk has a beautiful old patina.

Chinese Export Gold and Black Lacquer Tea Caddy, mid 1800's, 5 1/4" high, 9 1/4" x 6" wide, with very finely detailed painting of garden and court scene in different shades of gold, light and dark on black lacquer background, used one(1) hair brush in most of areas to draw finest line and face expressions, and carved Dragon feet with open red mouth. The quality of this tea caddy is one of the best ones I ever seen for long time. It contains two(2) engraved Pewter tea boxes inside with fitted covers and round bone knob. Pewter boxes have some dent. The condition of this lacquer tea caddy is exceptionally good compare to the other lacquer tea caddies in this kind of delicate lacquer work as a 19th century piece. There are some black lacquer losses on the bottom around the front left foot in small area, and lower part of the lid under the top and small lacquer loss of the left side under the lid. very minimal lacquer wear in tiny areas around the corners of outer top edges.
