| Pair Chinese blue and white Canton Tea Canisters, circa before 1830 and 13 3/4" high-with carved rosewood tops, 12 1/2" high-without tops, 7 1/4" wide square with unglazed flat bottom. This pair of Canton Tea Canisters are very heavy weight with typical Canton decorations of a man on the bridge, sampans in the lake, pavilions with pine and willow trees and two(2) men walking up the hill to the Temple, all the decorations are done in underglaze blue. Two(2) carved rosewood tops(at least 40 years old) came with this pair Canton Canister set, but the owners did not use them on display. There are few very shallow glaze chips on the corners, about the size of 3/4" to 1/4" wide, and frits on the top rims, no restorations or hairlines, both ring like bell. | ||
