Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Ginger Jar, made later part of 1800's, 7 3/4" high, 7 1/2" wide-widest part, with Double Happiness Chinese Characters on three(3) areas among scrolling vines with snow pea flowers in underglaze blue. This Ginger Jar has matching top, decorated with double happiness character on top. The blue decorations are continued all the way to the top rim, leave very thin unglazed top rim, most of other ginger jars of this kinds are: top covers outside the jar rim but this top goes inside the jar top rim. There are some Chinese characters written in black ink under the lid unglazed area, this writings appeared to be old, maybe original, not added later date. No damages or restorations except kiln imperfections which is very typical of this kind of blue and white wares.
