Another beautiful diamond engagement ring! This one is 14k yellow gold band with a ¼ ct marquis shape diamond solitaire set in a 6 prong white gold mounting. Diamond has been tested, ring is size 5 and is stamped 14k and ¼. It appears to have one very tiny dark inclusion/dot that is visible with a 10x loupe – I say appears because I’m not certain that what I’m seeing is simply caused by the cut of the diamond -- it’s not eye visible and when I turn the ring while using the loupe, I can’t see the dot from every angle. I’m obviously not a jeweler :) but this is a lovely diamond with lots of sparkle!
Please note that the dark dot in photo is simply light reflection/refraction caused by the camera flash and the setting lighting – it is NOT the dark dot that I think I see with the loupe.
***I have just had this ring appraised and a copy of the written appraisal will be included with purchase. Here's the appraisal statement:
"14k yellow gold diamond solitaire. Ring features 1 marquise cut diamond weighing approximately .20ct with I/J in color and SI2 in clarity at 10(x). Ring weighs 1.0dwt. Replacement value $400.00."
I questioned the diamond size at .20ct when the ring is stamped 1/4. She told me that rings will be stamped 1/4 when the diamond size ranges from .20 to .25.
