This item is as basically all circa 1950-1960's "FRATELLI TOSO" MURANO ITALY Paperweights as they were originally marked with Paper or Foil labels which were very easily removed. This item has a flat ground base as the Fratelli Toso weights of this period have as well as the stunning Gold/Copper cushion on which the Tree of Pink, White and Blue Canes rest. The Stems of the Flower Tree are done in a light green over a dark green layer of glass. This is one of the most beautiful paperweights of this period we have had the opportunity to offer for sale. The paperweight has only very minor expected base wear and possibly a few extremely tiny marks to the surface of the original polished surface of the paperweight. Greentown Beautiful Medium Size Chocolate Glass Cactus Pattern Bowl! Jacob Rosenthal developed "Chocolate Glass" for the Indiana Tumbler & Goblet Company (aka Greentown) and was released to the public in May of 1902. The very successful line was the star production of the firm until it was destroyed by a Catastrophic Fire on June 13, 1903. As with almost all of Original Greentown Chocolate Glass that survives today, this item may have in the making small air bubbles, dark ash spots or streaks withing the glass as well as edge stress lines created during the cooling process all of which are not considered damage and are natural occurring anomalies inherent to the brittle Greentown Chocolate Glass.
