This wonderful piece of fine Vintage Estate Costume Jewelry still retains its original price and product code tag! Marked on tag "Vendome US. Pat. No. 2.961.866." The ring also has an impressed V with a line in the center (like a 3 leaf plant). "Vendome was established as a subsidiary of Coro to manufacture a superior line of jewelry. The mark was used as early as 1944 on charm bracelets and faux pearl jewelry, but the Vendome line which began in the 1950's did not become popular until the early 1960's, largely due to beautiful designs introduced by Helen Marion, Vendome's principal designer. Basically, Vendome replaced Corocraft, which, up to that time, marked the higher quality jewelry made by Coro. Vendome jewelry used the best of imported rhinestones and faceted crystal beads. The clarity and brilliance of the stones and top quality metalwork combined in artistically expressive designs were the main factors behind Vendome's success." This is one of the most difficult colors to find in what is also a difficult to find Antique Northwood Carnival Glass Tumbler. Oriental Poppy has long been one of the most sought after and collected patterns by both Carnival Glass and Pattern Glass collectors. Northwood developed ICE GREEN and very little of this stunning and exceptionally eye appealing color is found today. This item measures 4 1/4" tall and 3 1/4" across the top. The base measures 2 5/8" across. The Northwood Logo of an Underlined CAPITAL "N" in a Circle is found on the interior base. This item has a lovely soft velvety iridescent Carnival Glass finish upon the Ice Green Glass, which also has an excellent mold strike (strong mold impression). The glass itself has the common Antique Carnival Glass anomalies such as bubbles trapped within the glass, small straw marks, there is s tiny ribbon of slightly darker green color in the glass from the making as well as common base/bottom shelf wear from it's many years of being admired and picked up and placed down.
