KENTON HILLS & CREST co W.E. HENTSCHELL LAMP BASE
We very proudly offer for purchase this absolutely OUTSTANDING & RARE Complete KENTON HILLS PORCELAIN (American Art Pottery) Jewel Porcelain LAMP BASE by WILLIAM E. HENTSCHELL. The complete and original Bronze and Brass hardware on this item is marked CREST 1715. Crest Lamp CO of Chicago is considered one of the finest lamp manufacturers of the early to mid 20th Century. They used only the highest quality Art Pottery, Porcelains and Art Glass to enhance their hardware. This Original and completely intact lamp base also happens to have a magnificent "KENTON HILLS" WILLIAM E. HENTSCHELL Artist signed Lamp Vase! This is an absolutely ORIGINAL Kenton Hills Lamp base as it is not a post production drilled lamp base. It is an actual lamp shaft mold created always to be a lamp base. The base is signed on the side with William E. Hentschell's signature and the interior rim of the base is impressed 177 followed by black under-glaze marks which I have not identified. As is common for most Kenton Hills Porcelain/Pottery high glaze items, this also has some crazing as can be seen in our images. The Kenton Hills Hentschell Lamp Vase measures 13" tall and 6 1/2" across at the widest point. The over-all height of this Kenton Hills/Crest Lamp base is 18 1/2" tall! This is one of the most desirable American Art Pottery/Porcelain companies available due to the fact that Kenton Hills was in production only from late 1939 and ended all production by 1943. Kenton Hills was located in Kentucky and was a firm created by several Rookwood Art Pottery employees which included William E. Hentschell, David Seyler and Harold Bopp. This item has it's original patina and even original dirt as we will not clean this item nor rewire it. This is absolutely and completely original, something that basically no other Kenton Hills Lamp available anywhere can claim. This item has no chips, cracks or repairs. Shipping/Handling and Insurance is $30.00 in the Continental U.S. Additional photo's are available upon request.
