Introducing Leo Feeney & His Sterling Jeweled Necklace
Leo Feeney is a contemporary Southwestern studio artist who has become known for his incredible works with unusual pairings of color. His choice of gem quality stones and quality of workmanship is second to none. This necklace is handmade by Leo and his son Carlos works along his side. His wife is Mexican American and his work definitely exhibits that cultural influence. The bezels are tipped with the finest saw tooth I have ever seen. The filigree swirls and beads spark the entire piece. The green turquoise is Emerald Valley from Nevada. The stones are citrine, peridot and tiny rounds of pink tourmaline dotted within. The amethyst are dark and rich with all the gems dancing with the light. The length is 16.75in or wearable length plus 1.5in. of adjustable rings. The weight is 89 grams heavy. The height of the drops around the neck are 1 inch wide. The center piece is 2.75in. long and 1 1/8th in. wide. The necklace is signed Feeney Sterling with a secure hang tag by the closure. I rarely list new works on my site but I believe Leo's pieces will be looked back on just like I look back on the fine handmade treasures from the vintage Mexican silver era. His works are all "Leo-licious" just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
