LAY AWAY AVAILABLE This is a William Spratling azur-malachite silver and stone star necklace from his 3rd phase. It is pictured with the same stone on page 76 of SPRATLING SILVER: A FIELD GUIDE by Phyllis M. Goddard. After his Alaskan expedition his designs were influenced from his time there with many designs incorporating stars. It is a graceful 15.5in. long and the star drop is a stately 2.25in. long and 2.25in. wide. The weight is 52 grams heavy. This is a rarely seen piece of Spratling history in remarkable condition. I find one tiny spot the size of the point of a straight pin on the stone and no cracks running throughout. There are no dents to any of the silver. Azur-malachite has a porous complexion and always a variety of colors within it. There is blue, gray, greens and brown matrix all on display. The necklace is sleek and elegant on, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
