| Beautiful large set of ABC picture blocks is in the original box. The overall size of the box is 15 1/2" high by 11 /1/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep. The lid would have been tacked to the wood-framed base.Charming chromolithographed picture on the cover is excellent Some of the dresden paper strips framing it are missing and the corners of the lid show wear. Inside the box are 15 outstanding blocks 3 3/8" by 2 3/4" by 1 5/16" . The condition of the paper is 9.75+ out of 10. The short sides show the alphabet (upper and lower case), the numbers and various scenes ,including Max & Moritz playing musical instruments. The long sides show a variety of animals both wild and domestic.The set is in amazing condition and really a wonderful toy.I would date it prior to WWI, made in Germany for export. | |||||
