The Little King wooden walking toy is great.
The Little King was a comic strip character created by Otto Soglow in the early 1930s. This charming little walking king is probably from the '30s or '40's. He is made of wood with lithographed features, 4" tall and 2 1/4" across the base. He moves when you pull the little ring on the string coming out of his headgear. However I am sure he was meant to move more dynamically because one can see remnants of dried up rubber band material on grooves on the spool which are his "feet". Condition of the figure is very good, his perambulations must be left to an engineer.
