Decorative figure of a black man straddling a chair.
Excellently detailed figure of a black gentleman straddling a chair. He is well dressed in late 19th century style. The figure is coldpainted cast lead, probably by Heyde, in the manner of Vienna bronzes. It is 3 1/4 inches tall and about 1 1/4" at its widest point. The condition of the figure is excellent. The original paint is quite good. The only flaw is a splash of white paint on his back and a drop on his left jacket sleeve - the part leaning on the chair back. The figure is probably turn of the 20th century or thereabouts.
