| This handsome Belding Bros.&Co. circa 19th c. country store spool cabinet is 19" wide, 13" tall and 17" deep. It is all original and in nice condition. The cabinet is solid oak - the back is pine and the name plate on the bottom drawer is mahagony. There are five drawers, 15 1/2" wide - the bottom drawer is 2 1/4" deep and has a mahagony name plate with gilt lettering(original). The other four drawers are glass (original) fronted and 1 3/8" deep. The cabinet has attractive decorative moldings at the top and bottom. The handle and metal fittings (original) are nickel plated brass. The top of the cabinet has some wear. I believe the darker marks are flaws in the oak. The drawers have many Belding spools ( some with thread ), but they are all much later than the cabinet as the company merged with other thread companies several times. | ||||||||||||
